Hardstand Extension & Upgrade – Tier-1 bulk grain handling facility – Fremantle

Our Client experienced issues during wet weather impacting their North Fremantle site and the ability to stack shipping containers.

Construction in the industrial site was to improve the current hardstand pavement that could handle the heavy loads imposed by port infrastructure, improve grades and reduce flooding.

Scope Of Work

  • Design and documentation of construction work
  • Staging plan to allow continued site operation during works
  • Tender construction work to appropriate contractors
  • Superintend the construction of the site in accordance with AS 4000.

Project Challenges

Tight timeframes outlined by our Client to deliver the project taking into consideration the infrastructure loads and constraints while ensuring limited impact on site operations in a timely manner.

How We Managed This

MAD3 Engineering (formerly McDowall Affleck Pty Ltd) developed a construction schedule that aimed at reducing the impact on site operations throughout the project by utilised surveys to outline the extent of all works and constraints along with support from our structural engineering team in developing footings to support the drainage system.

Value Engineering

MAD3 Engineering were able understand the client’s needs for the project and ensure all requirements were addressed in the design and construction to deliver the project without delays and improved operational safety through a full drainage network on site due to responsive internal collaboration with the structural engineering team.
